During the two-day conference, it will be held under the slogan “New Horizons… Desired Algeria.” , Renewing the movement’s structures and electing a new president for Hamas to succeed Abd al-Razzaq Makri, who served two terms in the position, and former minister Abd al-Majid Manasra announced his candidacy for the position of head of the Movement for Society for Peace, last January, in response to what he said was “the demand of a convincing number of leaders, cadres and activists of the movement.”
Abd al-Majid Manasra stated in a previous post on the social networking site “Facebook” that, after consulting and seeking istikharah, he announces to the members, fans and supporters of the movement, he announces his intention to run for the position of head of the Peace Society Movement, which will be vacant in the conference, adding that “he could not ignore These demands, and not to renounce those calls, which have reached him and are still reaching him. Manasra expressed his high appreciation for their point of view and the sincerity of their intentions, especially since the movement today is full of energies and competencies from those with experience and precedence, as well as from the distinguished young generations, according to what was stated in its publication.
Abdul Majeed Manasra stressed commitment to the values of brotherhood, unity and loyalty, for fair competition that strengthens and preserves the movement, as well as raises the value of the movement, upholds its message, and activates its role in society, the state and the nation.
Abdul Majeed directed an advocacy to all members of the Peace Society Movement, without exception, with the message of “rooting and renewal,” a desire to cooperate with everyone so that the movement would be for everyone and for everyone, and for it to be able to open new horizons for the aspired Algeria project.
Abdel Majeed Manasra, a former minister, previously assumed the presidency of the Society for Peace Movement in 2017, and was chosen as the interim president of the movement for a period of 5 months during the 10-month consensual phase.
