Fifteen people died and 386 others were injured from the 11th to the 14th of January, as a result of traffic accidents, according to a statement by the civil protection services, this Saturday.
The same source added that the heaviest death toll was recorded in the state of Tiaret, with the death of two (2) people and the injury of three (3) others, following a collision between two (2) trucks and (1) car, at the level of National Road No. 14 in the municipality of Ain Al-Hadid, Franda district.
The statement stated that civil protection personnel also intervened to put out 5 urban, industrial and different fires in the states of Annaba, In Guezzam, Medea, Boumerdes and Algiers, leaving a person dead in the state of In Guezzam as a result of a fire that broke out in a room of a house followed by an explosion at the level of the Western Rural neighborhood. Civil protection units also intervened during the same period – adds the same source – in order to rescue and aid 28 people who suffocated as a result of inhaling carbon monoxide gas emitted from heating devices, water heaters and bathrooms inside their homes, across the various states of the country.
In a related context, the same source indicated that the civil protection interests of the state of Algiers provided first aid to two (2) people with minor burns, following the explosion of a gas canister inside the kitchen of a house in the dome.
