An extremist group once again attacked the Holy Quran in front of the Ankara embassy in the Danish capital, Copenhagen. The attack was carried out by a member of the anti-Islam, nationalist group Patrioterne Gar Live.
The perpetrator of the provocative attack raised anti-Islamic banners and chanted offensive slogans, and broadcast them live on his Twitter account.
The police warned citizens not to intervene to object to the attack, and continued to take measures in the vicinity of the port.
It is noteworthy that the extremist group had attacked the Holy Quran on March 24, 31, and April 14, 2023, in Copenhagen.
On January 21, the leader of the Danish far-right “hard line” party, Rasmus Paludan, burned a copy of the Holy Qur’an near the Turkish embassy in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, under strict police protection. A few days later, he burned two copies of the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen and in front of a mosque.
Calls were made for a boycott of Swedish goods, and the incident caused a demand to suspend the ratification mechanism for Stockholm’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
