Didouche: We look forward to a pioneering tourism industry that contributes to the prosperity of the country – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Mokhtar Didouche, affirmed today, Sunday, from Tlemcen, that Algeria is looking forward to a pioneering tourism industry that contributes to the prosperity of the country, in a speech he delivered on the occasion of the revival of the National Tourism Day under the slogan “Tourism is in the heart of contemporary Algeria.”
Didouche said in a speech on the occasion of the commemoration of the National Tourism Day, which falls on June 25 of each year, whose ceremony was hosted by the Palace of Culture “Abdul Karim Dali” in Tlemcen, that “Algeria today is looking forward to a pioneering tourism industry that contributes to the prosperity of the country and the achievement of social prosperity for the citizen through the creation of wealth and jobs and facilities development.”
He added, “Tourism in our country today has become contributing to the creation of an active economic movement in all states due to its tangible positive impact on local development through wealth creation and job creation.”
The minister pointed out that the slogan “Tourism in the Heart of Contemporary Algeria” was chosen for the revival of the National Tourism Day this year, given the great importance it has become within the directives of the country’s higher authorities and the policy of developing the national economy.
Didush highlighted that the national reception capacity amounted to 1,590 tourism and hotel establishments providing 146,500 beds, while the number of tourism agencies increased to approximately 4,800 accredited agencies, as well as more than 200 tourism guides.
In the field of tourism investment projects that are in the process of being completed, according to Didouche, 734 projects were counted, providing 90,460 beds and 25,730 jobs, at a total cost of 560 billion DZD. The investment field.
The tourism sector also possesses an important real estate base directed to tourism investment, consisting of 249 classified tourist expansion areas, of which 65 are equipped with approved development plans, 38 are in the process of completion, and 60 other plans are in the process of preparation, adds the minister, who confirmed that work is underway to push the investment wheel. Tourism, raising the level of the national tourism offer in quantity and quality, providing an environment for honest competition, and reducing the prices of services.
The celebration of the National Tourism Day was marked by the organization of exhibitions for economic operators, partners and craftsmen, an exhibition of traditional Nubian and Andalusian dress, as well as the award ceremony for the winners of the promotional videos competition for tourist destinations in Algeria launched by the Ministry of Tourism, and honoring a number of retirees from the sector.
