During the Doha meeting.. Islamic Cooperation confirms its commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Arab League in combating poverty – the Algerian dialogue

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation affirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination with the Arab League in the field of social development, within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed between the two sides.
This came in a speech delivered by Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakhit, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs, at the high-level event of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, which was held in the Qatari capital, Doha, today.
Ambassador Tariq indicated that the Second Arab Decade for Persons with Disabilities represents an opportunity to support those efforts in following up the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan and beyond by examining ways and means to improve the conditions of this social group in order to achieve the principle of equality and social justice among members of society.
On the other hand, Ambassador Tariq praised the second report on multilateral poverty, noting that it is in line with the objectives of the OIC Ten-Year Program and related resolutions.
