Energy cooperation is the focus of the Algerian-Syrian talks – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

The President and Director General, Tawfiq Hakkar, discussed with the Syrian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Firas Hassan Kaddour, the possibilities of cooperation in the fields of energy in terms of exploration and formation.

Today, Thursday morning, Tawfiq Hakkar received Firas Hassan Kaddour, in the framework of his visit to Algeria from 26 to 28 April 2023, at Sonatrach’s headquarters, who was accompanied by a delegation consisting of executives from the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources and the Syrian Electricity Company.

According to a statement by the “Sonatrach” group, the meeting constituted an opportunity for the Syrian party to discuss possible cooperation possibilities with Sonatrach in the hydrocarbons sector, especially in the fields of research and exploration for oil and gas, marketing petroleum products, and exchanging experiences and training.

By the way, the Syrian delegation visited the Sidi Razin refinery in Algiers, where it received detailed explanations about the production and export capabilities of the refinery, which are of interest to the brothers in the Syrian Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources. The source added that this visit translates the desire to lay solid and permanent foundations for cooperation with Sonatrach, and confirms the interest of the Syrian side in concluding future cooperation agreements in the field of hydrocarbons.
