Today, Tuesday, the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ali Aoun, received at the Ministry’s headquarters, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, Bjorn Hackmark, accompanied by a delegation from AstraZeneca laboratories headed by the Head of the Middle East and North Africa Region, Skander Rami.
This meeting, which is part of the endeavor to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Sweden, allowed to review the progress of the partnership between the two parties, as well as the prospects for developing investments and establishing AstraZeneca laboratories in Algeria by localizing the production of innovative medicines with high added value, used in treatment schemes for cancer, blood diseases and diabetes. While creating a favorable environment for technology transfer and support for research and development.
The discussions also focused on ways to enhance institutional cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry through signing a memorandum of understanding between the various ministries and twinning between the pharmaceutical agencies of the two countries.
Finally, the two parties agreed to support and encourage exchanges and link relationships between pharmaceutical dealers in both countries to enable them to get acquainted with the pharmaceutical market and inquire about the multiple business opportunities offered by the production, distribution and export of pharmaceuticals at the regional and continental levels.
