Fayed: Submitting a draft amendment to the Public Procurement Law before the Council of Ministers this Wednesday – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

The Minister of Finance, Aziz Fayed, announced today, Tuesday, that the draft amendment to the Public Procurement Law will be presented this Wednesday to the government meeting, before it is submitted to the Council of Ministers and presented to Parliament in its two chambers later for discussion.

In a press statement on the sidelines of his presentation of the text of the Public Accounting and Financial Management Law before the National Assembly, the minister said, “The Public Procurement Law is considered one of the most important texts of public financial reforms, and it will be studied in the government meeting before it is studied at the level of the Council of Ministers, provided that it is presented to Parliament in its two chambers later.” for discussion.”

The minister added that the text of the Public Accounting and Financial Management Law is “a dedication to the ongoing deep reforms of the financial and accounting system and the budgetary system in general and came as an implementation of the organic law related to financial laws” for the year 2018.

Fayed pointed out that the text itself will give a new impetus to the quality of financial and economic information, and it will also provide the best vision for public policies in that it includes three-dimensional accounts, which are general accounting, cost analysis accounting, and budgetary accounting.

According to Fayed, the reforms affecting the financial system will enable the Court of Accounts to be given “a more important and different role from the role it has played so far, which is the evaluation of public policies.”

Regarding the regulation of exchange offices stipulated by the monetary and banking law, the minister reaffirmed that after the issuance of the law in the Official Gazette, there will be a regulatory text on how to license these offices, adding that the exchange offices will contribute to “reducing” the phenomenon of the parallel market.

And when he touched on the issue of compensation for the elected, Fayed indicated that the existence of a special committee at the level of the Ministry of Finance is studying this file and “will produce results in the coming weeks.”
