Handball.. Mouloudia Algiers crowned the Republic Cup 2012-2022 at the expense of ES Ain Touta – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

The MC Algiers handball team (men) won the Algerian Cup for the 2021-2022 season after defeating ES Ain Touta with a score (32-28) after extra time (legal time: 25-25 – first half 10-10) in the final match that brought together Between them on Friday evening, in Harcha Hassan Hall (Algiers).
With this victory, Mouloudia won its thirtieth cup in its history since the 1982 season, noting that its last crowning dated back to the 2019 season under the name of the Petroleum Complex, to lag behind in the competition record, the Skikda youth crowned in the 2020 edition, while ES Ain Touta failed to win its second cup.
And in front of a very large audience that crowded the stands of Harsha Hall, the match was intensely competitive between two teams of a close level, as parity prevailed most of the meeting periods, as the difference did not exceed two goals.
Mouloudia took the initiative to score before Al-Wefaq advanced by one goal (5-4) in the minute (5), after which Mouloudia regained superiority (10-8: d25), and the first half ended with a tie (10-10).
The same scenario was repeated in the second phase, where the two teams traded over the scoring, and Al-Wefaq advanced by two goals (20-18: d20) then (25-23: d28) before the capital team broke the tie (25-25) in the last second of the match, To play that extra time, which went in one direction in favor of Mouloudia under the encouragement of Al-Ansar (32-28), while Al-Wefaq collapsed, from which the cup was lost at the last moment of the match.
After the match, Mouloudia Algiers coach Saeed Lakhdar Arous stated that “his players made great sacrifices to achieve this victory, as they managed the extra time well, and I congratulate the players and the fans for their great encouragement.”
As for the coach of ES Ain Touta, Habib Kharaifia, he explained that “the reserve seat was not enough, and we missed the victory in the official time. I congratulate Mouloudia on this coronation.”
Earlier in the day, Al-Abyar Women’s Club won its seventh cup after defeating Mouloudia Alger (30-15), first half (16-4).
As a reminder, the Algerian Cup competition for the 2020-2021 season did not take place due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
