Mohamed Abdel Hafeez Hani, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, chaired today, Sunday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture, a coordination meeting devoted to following up the implementation and implementation of various programs and major files of the agriculture and rural development sector.

The meeting took place in the presence of the central executives of the ministry, heads and officials of complexes and offices under guardianship.

Before the start of the works, and on the occasion of the commemoration of the Victory Day, which coincided with March 19, 1962, a pause and a minute of silence were announced to have mercy on the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the sake of the homeland.

Hence, during the meeting, the implementation of the various files that fall within the strict implementation of the instructions and directives of the President of the Republic, which he gave during the national sessions of organized agriculture on February 28, 2023, was reviewed and followed up. The meeting was also devoted to the supply of agricultural products of wide consumption during the holy month of Ramadan.

In this regard, topics were dealt with regarding the regular supply of agricultural materials, ensuring the regular supply of the market during the holy month of Ramadan with agricultural materials of wide consumption; Review of the device set up for this purpose through the system of direct sale to citizens by public associations under the tutelage of the National Cattle Feeding Office «ONAB» white meat and eggs; The General Association of Red Meat «ALVIAR»: red meat at a fixed price. The National Professional Office of Vegetables and Meat «ONILEV»: fresh agricultural products. The General Aggregates for the Valuation of Agricultural Products and Logistics «AGROLOG» and «GVAPRO»: various agricultural products (vegetables, fruits, dates); the Algerian Occupational Office of Cereals «OAIC»: all products related to the processing of cereals and dry legumes, at fixed prices; The General Assembly of Milk «GIPLAIT»: All products related to milk and its derivatives.

With regard to following up on the implementation of sectoral programmes, reviewing the system and device dedicated to supplying the market with red meat at a fixed price of 1200 DZD and white meat at 350 DZD; The field launch of the sunflower cultivation program on an area of ​​45,000 hectares for the part of the year 2023, in order to launch the national oil production program; Review the progress of the RUSTIQUE and ARGANIER fruit tree development programme; Reviewing the progress of the Animal Corps Program for controlling lists of cows destined for breeding as part of the revival of the Milk Production Division; Launching a goat breeding program and encouraging it through various agencies; Reviewing the file for expanding the storage capacities of the Grain Division and other strategic products, in coordination with all concerned parties;

Reviewing the progress file of the Green Dam rehabilitation and expansion program;

And the General Census of Agriculture (RGA) Reviewing the period of progress of the works for launching the “General Census of Agriculture” (RGA). The importance of this national process lies in identifying and highlighting the country’s productive capabilities, which fall within the goals of achieving the government’s action plan and the sector’s road paper, with a special orientation towards encouraging the production of durum wheat, maize and legumes; Preparing for the elections process to renew the expired joint professional councils «CNIF».

Finally, it should be noted that these procedures fall within the framework of the completion and implementation of the High Instructions of the President of the Republic for the purpose of ensuring the permanent and regular supply of all agricultural products of wide consumption in the necessary quantity and quality.

It also aims to evaluate and follow up the implementation of the various programs entrusted to the sector through field and continuous follow-up.
