The honorary ceremony, which was initiated by the Third Millennium Artistic and Cultural Association, was marked by the contribution of the National Theater and the National Office of Copyright and Related Rights, in the presence of well-known artistic figures in appreciation and recognition of the stature and creativity of the musician and singer Kamal Hammadi, the owner of a selection of the most important Algerian songs, as well as the artist Mohamed El Ghazi, who excelled in the song. trendy.
By the way, artist Kamal Hammadi expressed his gratitude for this gesture, which coincides with the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Independence and Youth Days, which he considered as “a tribute to the long artistic journey that he waged over decades in order to consolidate authentic art.”
In turn, the artist Mohamed El-Ghazi appreciated the organization of the honoring ceremony, considering it “a moment to recall the memories of his artistic practice in service of Algerian art,” explaining that he “is eagerly awaiting the release of his full works of art, which will be an addition to the Algerian musical memory.”
The honorary ceremony witnessed the performance of the artist, Nawal Eloul, accompanied by the artists Massy, Nada Al-Rayhan, Samir Tomy, Rizky and Ali, and Elias Constantine, a variety of traditional and modern songs in various genres, in honor of the artists.
It is noteworthy that the composer and singer Kamal Hammadi, whose real name is Larbi Zaqan, was born on December 22, 1936 in Tizi-Ouzou. He possessed the talent of writing and composing music early, and in 1952 he went to the capital, where he met the composer Boualem Rabieh, to continue honing his talent on the radio alongside major artists inside and outside the country.
The artistic balance of the Dean of Composers Kamal Hammadi includes more than 2000 songs and dealt with composing and writing with the brightest stars of the Algerian song, such as Hajj Mhamed El-Anqi, Salwa, Fadila El-Daziria, Lonis Ait Menguelat, Zuleikha, Cheb Mami and others, as he was honored many times inside and outside the country, including the year 2018 With the National Order of Merit, he also wrote for the theater and performed lyrical operas.
For his part, the artist Mohamed El-Ghazi, who was born in 1946 in Bejaia, is considered one of the Algerian artistic names renewed in the character of the modern song. His artistic talent emerged after his participation in 1956 in a radio art class. He was also a student at the hands of Sheikh Sadiq El-Bajjawi, one of the statures of Andalusian music, to continue his artistic career with the richness of the repertoire of the modern Algerian song. With a rich collection of artwork, he also released an album of children’s songs.
