Within the framework of his field visit to the second military region, Lieutenant General Said Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of People’s National Army, supervised yesterday evening, Monday, at the level of the second field of shooting and maneuvering in Bergem Damouche, the implementation of a night tactical exercise with live ammunition, entitled “Desistence- 2023 ″, carried out by units of the 8th Armored Division, supported by units of the ground forces and units of technical and air support, as well as air defense of the region.

At the beginning, the first team listened to two presentations by the Commander of the Second Military Region and the Commander of the Eighth Armored Division, which included the general idea of ​​the exercise and the stages of its implementation. .

And in the second field of shooting and maneuvering in Bergem Damoush, the Lieutenant General followed closely the course of the exercise, which was carried out at night in conditions very close to reality, according to the set plan, and in line with the established objectives, mainly represented in honing the skills of commanders and staffs in preparing and organizing night combat actions and coordinating between the various forces, as well as providing commanders with experience in controlling units by achieving harmony and cooperation between units and sub-units, and enabling crews to acquire more skills in controlling weapon systems, as well as testing operational readiness and the ability to carry out night combat actions and the ability to successfully implement tasks entrusted in various circumstances.

The implementation of this exercise confirmed, once again and clearly, the superior readiness enjoyed by the participating units in the field of successful implementation of the assigned tasks, as well as the good control of the crews in various modern weapons and high-tech equipment, and also confirms the development that our armed forces have reached in recent years.

After the exercise, the Lieutenant General held the first meeting with the members of the participating units, where he congratulated them on the great efforts they made throughout the combat preparation year 2022-2023 and during the preparation and implementation of this exercise, praising the results achieved, which are fully consistent with what was planned, as well as with the nature and objectives of the tasks.
