The Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Mokhtar Didouche, received today, Tuesday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin, where the meeting focused on ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the fields of tourism and handicrafts.

At the outset of the meeting, the two parties expressed their pride in the quality of relations between Algeria and the United States of America and their keenness to promote inter-cooperation, reviewing the reality of bilateral relations in the field of tourism and handicrafts. Through the launch of practical activities aimed at promoting the field of hotel investment, especially in the field of coastal, hamlet and desert tourism, and attracting American hotel chains in the field of tourism and hotel management, as well as the participation of American tourist operators and operators in the most important dates and international events organized by the sector, similar to the International Salon Tourism and Travel and the International Salon of Handicrafts, which would allow building bridges of partnership with Algerian dealers to promote Algeria’s tourist destination and introduce it to American tourists.

In the same context, Her Excellency the Ambassador expressed her readiness to enhance efforts to advance bilateral cooperation relations in the tourism and handicrafts sector, especially in the field of training and strengthening capacities in the English language for the benefit of human resources active in the field of tourism and handicrafts, as well as promoting and introducing the Algerian tourism product to raise American tourists flocked to Algeria, praising the tourism potential that Algeria possesses, including cultural and archaeological landmarks and distinguished traditional industry.
