Since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the interests of the Regional Directorate of Trade in Blida have seized significant quantities of foodstuffs that are not fit for consumption across many of its central wilayas, as this public body learned today, Friday.
The director of the sector, Samia Ababsa, explained that the monitoring campaigns, which were intensified a few days before the advent of Ramadan, with the aim of protecting the purchasing power and health of the citizen, enabled the seizure of significant quantities of foodstuffs that are not fit for consumption across many central states.

In the state of Blida, the daily control operations carried out by the control agents to suppress fraud affiliated with the Directorate of Commerce resulted in the seizure of more than 10 quintals of white meat unfit for consumption, which were destroyed, in addition to 2242 kg of this meat due to the lack of a veterinary certificate.

And in the context of combating speculation, especially in subsidized sachet milk, which is one of the most consumed foodstuffs during the month of Ramadan, the control teams, accompanied by the National Gendarmerie Division of the Municipality of Wadi al-Alaiq, carried out a raid targeting a warehouse whose owner, who is a milk distributor, converts sacks of subsidized pasteurized milk into milk derivatives such as yogurt. and others.

This operation resulted in the seizure of an estimated quantity of 2,855 liters, of which 1,880 liters were placed in barrels that were destroyed and 975 bags were directed to a public utility body.

In the wilaya of Bouira, 1,340 kg of red meat was confiscated due to non-compliance with preservation conditions, 56 kg of sheep and cow liver, and 12 kg of cow entrails for not having a veterinary certificate, while the trade interests in the wilaya of Medea managed to seize 23 kg of frozen beef liver and 46 kg of raw white meat. Consumable.

In turn, the trade departments in the wilaya of Ain Defla intensified monitoring operations to determine the extent to which hygiene conditions are respected. These field outings culminated in the seizure of about 3,500 liters of drinkers due to the lack of hygiene conditions, in addition to the seizure of 70 kg of dough for making dumplings.
