The first convoy of solidarity aid of the Algerian Red Crescent, targeting 60,000 families in ten states, was launched from the National Center for Rapid Response to Natural Disasters in Sidi Rashid in the state of Tipaza, on the occasion of the month of Ramadan, which will fall at the end of this week for the Islamic nation.
The first convoy heads to 10 states in the far south of the country, loaded with 6,000 parcels of aid, provided that the solidarity initiative with poor families continues until next Tuesday to include all the states of the country, as explained by the President of the Algerian Red Crescent, Ibtissam Hamlawi.
The package of aid, which weighs 22 kilograms, contains basic foodstuffs such as couscous, flour, sugar, coffee, rice, pastries, and freekeh.

The Algerian Red Crescent expects to target 100,000 needy families during the coming month of Ramadan, i.e. nearly half a million people, at a rate of 5 people per family, through the Mercy Restaurants initiative, which will be organized by the crescent, by the way.
The matter relates to 238 Rahma restaurants that will open across all the states of the country, at a rate of four restaurants in each state and 10 restaurants in Algiers.
According to the supervisors of the operation, these restaurants will be organized for the “first time” in the form of a “portable hot meal” that can be delivered by volunteers to families or received directly from those spaces, with the aim of “preserving the sanctity of families, especially those who suffer in silence and Do not appear publicly.”
In addition to its budget for solidarity operations, the Algerian Red Crescent benefited in this humanitarian and solidarity operation from the assistance of national public economic institutions as well as local authorities at the wilaya level.
