Moulogi supervises the official launch of the activities of the Algerian Heritage Month – Al-Hiwar

Today, Tuesday, the Minister of Culture and Arts, Suria Moulouji, supervised the official launch of the activities of the Heritage Month (April 18-May 18), which comes this year under the slogan “Algerian Cultural Heritage and its African Extensions”, by organizing a study day on “Algerian Cultural Heritage and its African Depth” hosted by the Palace of Culture. “Mofdi Zakaria” with the participation of professors and specialists in the field, in addition to the inauguration of a cultural exhibition of African heritage, in the presence of the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the national community abroad, representatives of the Algerian security and military authorities and customs, executives from the ministry and a group of experts and researchers.

The Minister, Dr. Soria Moulouji, confirmed that this study day comes on the threshold of the renewed celebration of the month of heritage in our guarded country, and Algeria, as it celebrates and discusses various issues related to tangible and intangible heritage from the date of April 18, which is the International Day of Archaeological Sites, until the next May 18. It is International Museum Day, as it also pays great attention and utmost importance to cultural heritage with its various components and major stakes, a concern that has been translated practically and on the ground on many levels, foremost of which is the kind approval of the Prime Minister to take care of the additional amount of the state’s contribution to support the National Bureau for the management and exploitation of property Cultural during the years 2023 and 2024, with the aim of enabling the Bureau to protect archaeological sites at the national level in addition to employing 668 guard assistants, in addition to the completion of 32 guard centers with the acquisition of modern equipment to protect and secure archaeological sites.

In this regard, the Minister indicated that, within the framework of reviewing the archaeological map of Algeria, the National Center for Research in Archeology will organize regional sessions, starting from the date of April 26, in each of the governorates of Medea, Biskra, Regla and Tlemcen, provided that these regional sessions will conclude with a national symposium on the 18th. May at Moufdi Zakaria Palace in the capital, the date of the end of the Heritage Month for the year 2023. The Ministry of Culture and Arts also established a national public museum in the wilaya of Tindouf in the year 2022 to preserve and restore the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the wilaya of Tindouf, adding in the same context that the ministry is currently working on establishing a national public museum for Prince Abdel. El Kader in the wilaya of Mascara, along with interpretation centers of a museum nature in Bechar, Djelfa and Ain Temouchent, and efforts are continuing to focus on protecting and preserving heritage from various forms of neglect, abuse and crimes by the interests of the Ministry of Culture and Arts in accordance with permanent plans to preserve and reclaim the preserved sectors.

In this regard, the Ministry of Culture and Arts decided, Madam Minister adds, to focus more on the African dimension of the Algerian heritage, because of what it represents of cultural radiation and civilizational depth for our country, and an emphasis on very important issues in terms of belonging and common history, which calls for the necessity of cooperation and doing more Effort to promote these constructive visions that aim to protect the Algerian and African human cultural heritage, given the importance of the historically and culturally intertwined relationship between Algeria and all of Africa. Therefore, the slogan of the Heritage Month this year was responsive to these aspirations and bets, and in appreciation of the civilized status of our country, which is considered the second cradle of civilization and a beacon Majid raises the glory of Africa, according to the vision of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who has always been keen on this African dimension and its close connection with it culturally and civilized, which was translated into the registration of the project for the completion of the Great African Museum in a new process for the year 2023, and it is the museum that will be a lofty beacon Raise the glory of Algeria and Africa on the land of Algeria.
