Al-Shorfa: Increases in wages and pensions starting from March, with retroactive effect – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia
The Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Youssef Al-Shorfa, announced today, Monday, that the platform for membership of the Algerian community abroad in the retirement system will enter service starting from March.
During the “Guest of Liberation” radio session, the minister said that expatriates can register via the electronic platform or at the level of the National Retirement Fund for a fee of up to 31%, and members of the community registered in the retirement system will be able to benefit from all social security benefits in kind, especially the Shefa card.
Regarding the beneficiaries of the unemployment grant, the minister revealed that 300,000 beneficiaries of the grant have undergone training for a period ranging from 3 to 6 months to prepare them for a job, and those concerned with the grant will benefit from an increase in the amount amounting to 15,000 DZD. Stressing that the assistance of this segment does not stop at the unemployment grant, but the provision of job positions through the signing of an agreement between his interests and the Ministry of Vocational Training.
Regarding the expected wage increases, the minister talked about the allocation of 340 billion DZD in 2023, while it will reach 681 billion DZD in 2024, adding that by adding the 2022 budget, the financial impact of the increases will be 900 billion DZD to enable the citizen to bear the burdens and improve purchasing power.
Shorfa said that the increases in wages and pensions will enter into force in March 2023 and will be calculated retroactively, starting from January, as they include more than 7 million employees and retirees. It has allocated 147 billion dinars for retirees to raise their pensions.
