Outcome.. Arresting 22 elements of support for terrorist groups and seizing quantities of Moroccan kif – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

Units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 25 to 31 January 2023, several operations that yielded qualitative results that reflect the high level of professionalism, vigilance and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory.
Within the framework of counter-terrorism and border security operations, joint detachments of People’s National Army arrested (22) elements supporting terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, while (01) FMPK machine gun, (01) Dragunov sniper rifle and two (02) two-type machine guns were seized. Kalashnikov, (01) Simonov semi-automatic rifle, (01) Mat-49 submachine gun, and a quantity of ammunition, and this was during various quality operations.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and as a continuation of the relentless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with the various security services, stopped during operations across the military regions, (81) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to bring in quantities of drugs across the border with Morocco, It is estimated at (05) quintals and (95.5) kilograms of treated kif, while (05) kilograms of cocaine and (187966) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Vizam, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (147) people and seized (52) vehicles, (351) generators, (134) hammers and two (02) metal detectors, in addition to quantities of explosives and equipment. Detonation and other equipment used in illegal gold exploration operations, while (07) people were arrested and huge quantities of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation, estimated at (105.10) tons, as well as (113.55) quintals of tobacco and (51528) were seized. ) unit of various beverages, and this through sporadic operations across the national territory.
On the other hand, border guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie, thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel estimated at (10,672) liters in Souk Ahras, El Tarf, and Tebessa-Tamanrasset, while (179) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
