Outcome.. Arresting 6 elements of support for terrorist groups and seizing quantities of Moroccan kif – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

Detachments of People’s National Army arrested 06 elements supporting terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory, and two homemade bombs were discovered and destroyed during a search and combing patrol in M’sila during the period from 08 to 14 February 2023.

In the context of the continuous efforts exerted in the fight against terrorism and against organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out several operations that yielded qualitative results that reflect the high level of professionalism, vigilance and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and as a continuation of the relentless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with the various security services, stopped during operations across the military regions, (47) drug traffickers and thwarted attempts to bring in quantities of drugs across the border with Morocco, It is estimated at (05) quintals and (51) kilograms of treated kif, while (93284) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, En Fezzam and Tindouf, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (174) people and seized (27) vehicles, (170) generators, (103) hammers and (11) metal detectors, in addition to quantities of Explosives, detonating equipment and other equipment used in illegal gold exploration operations, while (44) people were arrested and (12) hunting rifles, two (02) automatic pistols, (995,000) cartridges for hunting rifles, and (103) quintals of tobacco were seized. And (7154) units of various drinks and huge quantities of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation, estimated at (100) tons, and this was done through sporadic operations across the national territory. Border guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie, thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel estimated at (59,966) liters in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Souk Ahras, El Tarf, and Tebessa.
On the other hand, coast guards thwarted illegal immigration attempts on our national coasts and rescued (55) people who were on traditionally made boats, while (457) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
