Outcome: racist arrest of support for terrorist groups and seizing quantities of Moroccan kif – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

In the context of the continuous efforts exerted in the fight against terrorism and against organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 01 to 07 February 2023, several operations that yielded qualitative results that reflect the extent of the high professionalism, vigilance and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory. .

Joint detachments of People’s National Army arrested two elements of support for terrorist groups in two separate operations in the provinces. A cache of terrorist groups was discovered and destroyed. It contains 4 homemade bombs, during a search and combing operation in Djelfa.

Joint detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with the various security services, during operations across the military regions, arrested 108 drug dealers and thwarted attempts to bring in quantities of drugs across the border with Morocco, estimated at 03 quintals and (24) kilograms of treated kif. While (712,624) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.

In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, En Fezzam and Tindouf, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (1937) people and seized (42) vehicles and (179) generators. And (86) pressure hammers and (05) metal detectors, in addition to quantities of explosives, detonating equipment and other equipment used in illegal gold exploration operations.

Meanwhile, (29) people were arrested and (08) hunting rifles and large quantities of cartridges for hunting rifles were seized. Huge quantities of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation are estimated at (210) tons, as well as (10) tons of copper waste and (26.5) quintals of tobacco, and this was done through separate operations across the national territory.

Border guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie, thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel, estimated at (77,620) liters, in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Souk Ahras, El Tarf, and Tebessa.

On the other hand, coast guards thwarted illegal immigration attempts on the national coasts and rescued (44) people who were aboard traditionally made boats, while (161) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested.
