On Sunday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, expressed his satisfaction with the convergence of views between Algeria and Uganda on issues of common interest between the two countries.
In a statement after he supervised, with his Ugandan counterpart, Mr. Yoweri Museveni, the signing ceremony of two agreements and five memorandums of understanding between the two countries, President Tebboune expressed “great satisfaction with the congruence of analyzes and views on the issues included in the consultations and the fruitful results achieved on the occasion of his state visit.” President Museveni to Algeria.
He added that this visit “strengthened the relations of brotherhood and solidarity between the two countries, which are marked by regular bilateral consultations.”
He explained that Algeria “is keen to develop its relations with the Republic of Uganda and its African depth and considers this a strategic direction,” noting that the Ugandan president’s visit is “an opportunity to work together to advance bilateral relations by exploiting the available capabilities in the two countries.”
The President of the Republic affirmed Algeria’s readiness to share experiences and expertise with Uganda in the fields of energy, tourism, food industries, higher education and scientific research, congratulating his Ugandan counterpart on the oil discoveries in his country and what it could contribute to strengthening the partnership between the two countries in the field of energy.
