Today, Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, supervised, at the Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Center, in Algiers, the commemoration of the World Press Freedom Day, which falls on the third of May of each year.
The ceremony was attended by the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Saleh Goujil, the Speaker of the National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Bougali, the Prime Minister, Ayman Ben Abdelrahman, the President of the Constitutional Court, Omar Belhadj, and the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant General Said Chanegriha, along with members of the government and high executives. In the country, as well as officials of media institutions, journalists, affiliates of the communication sector, and representatives of the foreign press accredited in Algeria.
At the conclusion of this celebration, the President of the Republic congratulated the journalists on their international day, and also exchanged talks with them about the various concerns of the media sector in Algeria.
The Minister of Communication also delivered a speech in which he commended the various reforms taking place in the communication sector and the efforts made by the state to advance it, reaffirming on the same occasion Algeria’s support for the struggles of all free journalists and free people in the world.
