President Tebboune: We have recovered 23 billion dollars of looted funds, and the cooperation of the concerned countries is a must

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed that the cooperation of European countries with Algeria regarding the recovery of looted funds is a duty for it, noting that Algeria managed to recover about 23 billion dollars of these funds.

President Tebboune said in an interview with “Al Jazeera Podcast”, broadcast yesterday, Wednesday, that there is cooperation from abroad with Algeria in the matter of recovering the looted funds, considering that this cooperation is obligatory for these countries because all the illegal transfers of Algerians’ money were towards them in European countries in particular. France, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg, and the President of the Republic indicated that there are agreements that frame this cooperation, and that Algeria has begun to recover the looted funds in its war against corruption at the internal level, and has recovered nearly 23 billion dollars, while it has begun to receive looted funds smuggled on Some countries, including Spain, and in the context, the President revealed that Algeria is in the process of receiving the ownership of 3 luxurious five-star hotels belonging to one of the courts in corruption cases, and he refused to mention the name of the concerned.
