Rabika: We are keen on preserving the nation’s constants and strengthening the elements of its identity – the Algerian dialogue

The Minister of Mujahideen and People with Rights, Eid Rabika, affirmed his sector’s keenness to continue completing works and historical documentaries with the aim of preserving the nation’s constants and strengthening the elements of its identity.

At the inauguration of a symposium on “The Audiovisual Archive and its Contribution to Building the National Memory”, in the presence of the Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, Rubikah explained that within the framework of the sixtieth anniversary of independence, the sector is working on the completion of works and documentaries, including “Algerian Prisoners on St. Margaret” and “Immigrated Skulls” and the documentary series about the displaced to “Cayenne”.

Also, according to the minister, work is being done documenting the Kabulouti and Sabahiya revolutions of 1871 in eastern Algeria, and another documenting the course of one of the leaders of the popular resistance in Tassili N’Ajjer, the fighter Ibrahim Aq Abkda, as well as about the Arab martyr al-Tibsi, and a series marked by the seeds of freedom, a documentary film about the martyr Zuleikha Awadi, and another documentary about the child martyr, symbol Omar Yasef, called “Omar Al-Saghir”, which will be shown during the first week of next June.

And he highlighted that the completion of these works is “an important support in preserving the national memory and documenting the stages of the struggle” that falls within the framework of “caring for history, preserving the nation and its constants, strengthening the elements of its identity, fortifying its generations, and affirming the sense of belonging to the homeland.”

In a related matter, the minister stressed the necessity of “monitoring the various available means for monitoring, collecting, and exploiting the audiovisual archive and using it to record national history, and to search for the most effective ways to link the employment of this important archival stock and building memory,” adding that “the growing interest in the functional dimension The audiovisual archive falls within the context of a sense of historical responsibility for immunizing future generations and keeping pace with the development of modern technological means, including information media, media systems and digitization software.

For his part, Mohamed El-Hussein appreciated “Algeria’s historic agreement towards supporting the Palestinian cause,” expressing his “gratitude and thanks” to the Algerian people and to the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for his support for the just Palestinian cause. his Algerian brother.

By the way, a documentary series about the displaced to “Cayan” was shown, which sheds light on the tragedy of the displacement of Algerians, and their imprisonment in remote prisons, the most horrific of which is the “Cayan” prison in Guyana, where they are subjected to strict punitive measures.
