Ratification of the law on retirement and official holidays in the National Assembly – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

Today, Thursday, the members of Parliament unanimously approved the text of the law amending Law No. 63-278 of July 26, 1963 defining the list of official holidays, as well as the text of the law amending and supplementing Law No. 83-12 of July 02, 1983, relating to retirement.

In his speech following the ratification of the two laws, the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Faisal Ben Taleb, confirmed that the retirement law aims to achieve another step in the approach of the social justice policy adopted by Algeria with the aim of improving the purchasing power of citizens. Especially the retirees among them, praising the sense of responsibility that characterized the work of studying the retirement law and the list of official holidays prepared in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic and aimed at ensuring a decent life for citizens and achieving their aspirations to live in an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility.

Bin Taleb said that amending the provisions of Article 1 of Law No. 63-270, which includes extending the paid holiday for Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha from two to three days, will enable citizens to perform these two religious rituals in the best conditions and in an atmosphere of joy and reassurance, which will contribute to strengthening ties. Family and social cohesion to honor the principles of our true religion.
