Representatives of the Algerian community residing in Portugal praised, Monday evening in Lisbon, the special attention given by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to Algerian competencies residing abroad. According to the Algerian News Agency.

On the sidelines of the meeting that brought them together with President Tebboune, at the beginning of his state visit to Portugal, members of the community praised the “special status” that the new Algeria, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, accords to its children in the Diaspora.

The members of the community considered that this prestige was embodied in the many important incentives, facilities and measures approved by the President, which aim to strengthen the connection of the members of this community with their motherland and to involve them effectively, as a force of influence and suggestion in the development path embarked on by Algeria.

In this regard, Mr. Ihab Shanin, who is the head of the “Casa Algerina” association under establishment, said that “the national community is part of Algerian society and a natural extension of it and wants to participate in the development path and contribute to building the new Algeria, which has become a source of pride for every Algerian abroad, thanks to the achievements investigated internally and externally.

He added that the Algerians residing in Portugal are few in number, but they are “positively positioned in various Portuguese sectors and institutions,” noting that the aim of establishing the association is “to create links between members of the community and to introduce Algeria at the level of Portuguese civil society.”

For his part, the university researcher, Dr. Mourad Aati, appreciated the President’s keenness to meet with the Algerians of the diaspora every time, stressing that “the Algerian community is recruited to facilitate communication between institutions and dealers in both countries.”

He conveyed the feeling of “pride and pride” of the Algerians residing in Portugal, given the “strong return of Algerian diplomacy and its performance of leading roles in the world,” referring to the “positive” reactions he felt from the Portuguese towards Algeria.

For his part, Mohamed Boubazari, a professor at the University of Lusufen, considered that President Tebboune’s visit to Portugal would provide greater opportunities for cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research, by trying to “overcome difficulties and complex administrative procedures that prevent effective cooperation between university institutions.” research in both countries.
