Resumption of studies in flood-affected schools in Tipaza – Al-Hiwar Algeria

Today, Sunday, most of the educational institutions affected by the recent weather fluctuations that affected the eastern municipalities of the state of Tipaza resumed teaching in a “normal capacity”, after removing the mud that flooded them.

Today, Sunday, the state’s interests indicated that students of various educational institutions have enrolled in school seats. After removing the dust and mud that flooded some of the educational structures in the municipalities of Shuaiba, Al-Qalaia, Bou Ismail, Fouka and Khamisti, in conditions described as “normal”, except for two institutions, the work remains in progress in them to resume classes tomorrow, Monday.

The state’s interests counted “light” losses in some educational institutions, related to damage to the enclosures, ceilings, internal yards, and the floors of some departments. This made the state authorities decide to suspend studies last Thursday, the day of the floods that claimed the life of a 9-year-old student in Khemisti. As well as blocking roads and partial collapse of some housing and other structures.

The losses included two primary and two secondary schools in Kolea, an intermediate and a secondary school in Bou Ismail, and two intermediate schools in Fouka, while damage was recorded at a secondary school in Khemisti and a primary school in the municipality of Al-Hatataba.

As part of the continuous efforts to remove remnants of weather fluctuations and face the damage, shelters have been installed for families whose homes were damaged in the concerned municipalities, while for the third day in a row the operations of removing mud and dust from roads, streets and hunting grounds are continuing in Fouka, Khemisti and Buharon.

And the various departments of the state continue the process of evaluating the situation after recording floods as a result of the weather fluctuations recorded as a result of the precipitation of significant amounts of rain, the amount of which ranged between 100 and 160 mm in those affected municipalities, through municipal technical committees that began an accurate counting of the size of the losses, as confirmed by the governor of Tipaza, Abu Bakr. Buddy Busta, in a previous statement.

Aid continues to come from some states within the framework of solidarity between the various regions of the country, especially logistical aid represented in vehicles and trucks specialized in removing mud and removing waste.
