Today, Sunday, the Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, received at the ministry’s headquarters the grandson of leader Nelson Mandela, Mr. Zweliville Mandela, accompanied by his wife Rabyamandela, in the presence of executives from the central administration.

At the beginning of this meeting, the second of its kind, the two sides took advantage of the opportunity to reaffirm the depth of the historical and human relations that bind the two countries, especially since South Africa includes the greatest fighter known to the African continent, known for his ideas against apartheid and colonialism. He is also considered a friend of Algeria, which he visited at the beginning of its independence, as well as during the nineties. .

During the same meeting, the two sides discussed many issues of common interest related to cooperation between the two countries, especially those related to the field of maintaining medical equipment and running and managing hospitals in light of the pioneering experience that distinguishes South Africa in this field.

Where the minister expressed Algeria’s readiness to work with South Africa in the health sector by working to expand and strengthen opportunities for cooperation and bilateral partnership that can be established and embodied between the two countries. In this regard, the minister announced an expected visit of a delegation specialized in maintenance from South Africa to Algeria during the next few weeks to diagnose the situation of hospitals and draw a horizon for cooperation in this field based on the results and decisions that will be taken during the inspection process.

For his part, Mandela expressed his happiness at the second reception he received from the Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, pointing out that this reflects Algeria’s desire to strengthen its cooperation with South Africa, which will focus in the first phase on the aspect of maintaining medical equipment, and then extend to other fields. .
