Signing the minutes of talks between Algeria and Syria in the field of energy and mines – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

Today, Thursday, in Algiers, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, and the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the Syrian Arab Republic, Firas Hassan Kaddour, signed the minutes of the talks that brought together the two parties within the framework of strengthening Algerian-Syrian cooperation relations in the field of energy and mines, and studying opportunities partnership and investment between the two countries.

Cooperation opportunities in the fields include cooperation in the field of exploration and prospecting for hydrocarbons, refining and seismic survey, cooperation in the field of marketing crude oil and petroleum products, cooperation in the field of training and benefiting from the training capabilities available in the two countries and exchanging experiences, cooperation in the field of electricity, especially in the fields of maintenance, equipment and spare parts. Electricity, cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of mining and exploitation of mineral resources, especially mining research and exploration, mining research and analysis, training and development of human capital.

The signing ceremony took place, in the presence of the heads of the general managers of the Sonatrach complexes and the Algerian mines, and members of the delegations of the two countries.

This signature comes after the meeting that brought together, today at the Ministry’s headquarters, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Muhammad Arkab, the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources of the Syrian Arab Republic, Firas Hassan Kaddour, who was accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources and the Syrian Electricity Company, as well as holding meetings with officials Sonatrach and Sonelgaz complexes, and a visit to the Sidi Razin refinery in Algiers.
