Today, Sunday, the CEO of Sonatrach, Toufik Hakkar, and the CEO of Naftal, Abdelkader Chafi, supervised the launch of the exploitation of the new fuel storage and distribution center in Sidi Bel Abbes.
According to a statement by the “Sonatrach” complex, this center is located in the industrial zone of Sidi Bel Abbes, and occupies a total area of 21.7 hectares. The operation of this center will allow raising the level of fuel storage by an additional 180,000 m3, bringing the total storage capacity to 188,150 m3. The new storage center will be used according to the latest specifications, including remote automatic control mechanisms.
This increase in the storage capacity will allow the fuel reserve period to be increased from (08) eight days to thirty (30) days, and thus the new center will rank second in terms of capacity after the El-Kharroub center in the wilaya of Constantine, as it will work to meet the needs of the western and southwestern side of the country that It includes the governorates of Sidi Bel Abbes, Mascara, Saida, El Bayadh, Bechar, Adrar, Tindouf, Laghouat, Ghardaia.
