The 9th edition of the African Conference on Investment and Trade will start next Tuesday in Algiers – Al-Hiwar, Algeria

On Tuesday and Wednesday, May 16 and 17, Algeria will host the ninth edition of the Africa Investment and Trade Conference under the slogan “Africa’s Gateway to Industry, Agriculture and Trade Now”, which is organized by the Arab-African Center for Investment and Development (CAAID).

According to the head of the center, Amine Boutalebi, this edition of the conference will feature the participation of no less than 650 economic operators from different countries of the world. In various fields and attracting foreign investment to Algeria, “especially in light of the great facilities granted by the new investment law.”

The conference also aims to involve the Algerian community residing abroad in the endeavor to invest, diversify the national economy and promote exports, especially towards African countries, in line with the country’s economic policy, which “today has become clear and pours into the endeavor to upgrade the economy, investment and export by providing all the necessary means.” .

Among the points that will be addressed is the African Continental Free Trade Area (ZLECAF) and its role in promoting investment and intra-trade.

It is noteworthy that the meeting will feature the participation of the African Bank for Export and Import (Afrexim Bank), to which Algeria joined as a member state in July 2022, and which “will play a prominent role in promoting exports between African countries and giving guarantees to exporters for currency conversion,” along with a number of experts. International experts in economics and development, experts at the African Union, research centers and chambers of commerce in the participating countries, according to what Mr. Boutalebi said earlier to WAG.
