The army’s outcome.. 42 members of support for terrorist groups were arrested and quantities of Moroccan drugs seized – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

The interests of the People’s National Army stopped 42 elements of support for terrorist groups across the national territory and seized quantities of Moroccan kif, from the 14th to the 20th of June.

In the context of the continuous efforts exerted in the fight against terrorism and against organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 14 to 20 June 2023, several operations that yielded qualitative results that reflect the extent of the high professionalism, vigilance and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the territory. the National:
Within the framework of combating terrorism and securing borders, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (42) elements supporting terrorist groups during separate operations, while another detachment seized, in Amenas, four (04) Kalashnikov submachine guns, four (04) hand grenades and a quantity of ammunition.
Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuation of the relentless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with the various security services, stopped during operations across the military regions, (43) drug dealers and thwarted attempts to bring in (21) kantars and (56, 15) kilograms of processed kif were seized across the border with Morocco, while (1560) grams of cocaine and (59476) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Ingham and Djanet, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (181) people and seized (13) vehicles, (113) electric generators, (57) hammers, (03) metal detectors and (116.5) (a quintal of a mixture of gold ore and stones, in addition to quantities of explosives, detonating equipment and equipment used in illegal gold exploration operations, while (10) other persons were arrested and (07) hunting rifles and quantities of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation were seized, estimated at ( 121.6 tons, in addition to 35 quintals of tobacco, during separate operations across the national territory. Border guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie and Customs, thwarted attempts to smuggle quantities of fuel estimated at (20,247) liters in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Tebessa, Souk Ahras, and El Tarf.
On the other hand, coast guards thwarted illegal immigration attempts on our national coasts and rescued (30) people who were aboard traditionally made boats, while (407) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
