Today, the Artist’s Law Drafting Committee finished preparing and drafting the initial draft of the artist’s law, after three months of continuous work, according to the predetermined period.
The committee handed it over to the Minister of Culture and Arts, Suria Moulouji, with the idea that the project will be presented later to artists and intellectuals for enrichment and opinion in a national workshop that will be organized directly after the national workshops on film industry policy in Algeria.
The preparation of the draft law was based on the outcomes of the meetings and workshops organized by the Ministry of Culture and Arts over a period of three months with artists and various actors in the field all over the country in order to raise their various professional and social concerns in order to take care of them and translate them by enacting a law for the artist, which aims to grant Artists have a status in Algerian society, reflecting their pioneering role in the development and prosperity of artistic and cultural life, by defining the rights and duties of the artist and everything related to his legal status in terms of measures related to training and training, social security, and conditions related to income or artistic wages, freedom of creativity and expression, in order to encourage On the continuity of artistic creativity and benefiting from cultural life and making it an essential tributary of the national economy.
