In a statement issued on Monday, the Audiovisual Control Authority reminded “all activists in the audiovisual sector of the need to control their programmes, while respecting the specifics of this holy month, adhering to its rules of etiquette and ethics, not slipping behind material profit and viewership, and avoiding excitement and manifestations of violence in all its forms.” And its types, as well as respect for the national religious reference.
In its statement, the audiovisual control authority called for “the need to protect children and provide a media service that lives up to the aspirations of the Algerian family.” The authority’s call came to avoid the repetition of abuses recorded earlier, especially during the holy month.
