The capital.. life imprisonment for 3 people and 10 years in prison for those accused of illegal speculation – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

The Criminal Court of First Instance of the Judicial Council of Algiers sentenced three persons to life imprisonment and 10 years in prison against a fourth defendant, after convicting them of the felony of illegal speculation, according to a statement of the Public Prosecution Office of the Judicial Council of Algiers on Wednesday.
And the same source explained that “pursuant to the provisions of Article 11 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, within the framework of combating the phenomenon of illegal speculation in basic and widely consumed foodstuffs subsidized by the state, the Criminal Court of First Instance at the Judicial Council of Algiers issued, yesterday, Tuesday, a ruling according to which it decided to punish 3 people to life imprisonment and 10 years in prison for a fourth accused.
The suspects were convicted of the two offenses of “illicit speculation committed by a transnational organized group and smuggling of a serious degree that threatens the national economy and public health.”
And the statement added that “the case file was abandoned by the Tamanrasset court for the benefit of the Sidi Mohamed Court (Department for Combating Transnational Organized Crime) at the request of the Republic’s Public Prosecution for the latter, given the seriousness of the facts.”
