Today, Monday, the Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, presided over the works of the ninth session of the Algerian-Jordanian joint committee in Amman, jointly with his Jordanian counterpart, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply and Minister of Labor, Youssef Chemali.

In an opening speech delivered on the occasion, the minister stressed the sincere determination of the two countries to upgrade the brotherly relations and cooperation between the two brotherly countries to the level of strategic partnership in order to achieve their common interests and aspirations for further development and advancement.

The minister also stated that Algeria had taken the initiative to create a safe and stable environment that enhances confidence among economic dealers, by opening several workshops aimed at radically reviewing the legal and regulatory system that frames the country’s economy, including the new hydrocarbons law that makes the hydrocarbon sector keep pace with the development taking place at the level The new international monetary and banking law, which was issued two weeks ago, came to adapt the legal and regulatory system to economic and financial transformations, technical and technological challenges, and openness to new actors. The new investment law permanently enshrined the internationally applied principles in the field of investment, in addition to other reforms, especially the termination of the 49/51 rule. The minister also drew a road map to enhance economic, trade and investment cooperation across nine (09) economic fields of utmost importance, namely industry, energy/mines, agriculture, finance, health, work, social security, tourism and transportation.

Aoun also spoke about areas of cooperation and partnership proposed to work between the two countries, especially with regard to employing Jordanian capacities, especially in the strategic projects being launched in the mining sector, benefiting from the Jordanian experience in the financial and banking field, establishing cooperation in the field of digitization and digital transformation, and establishing cooperation in The field of knowledge economy, start-up and micro-enterprises, establishing an industrial and technological partnership, and seizing the opportunity to invest in the field of industry and subcontracting in all industrial branches, adds the minister.
