Today, Wednesday, fellow journalist Hamza Berkawi died after a struggle with malaria, which he contracted while covering the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
For months, the deceased struggled with malaria, which afflicted him after accompanying the Algerian national team’s participation in “Cannes 2021”, which was held on Cameroonian soil between the ninth of January and the sixth of February 2022.
The deceased suffered from complications of malaria, which caused him spots in the lungs, and inflammation at the level of the liver, before his death, on Wednesday morning, at Muhammad Al-Amin Dabaghin Hospital (formerly May) in Bab Al-Wad.
