The delegation of the National Assembly in the Arab Parliament pleads for the promotion of joint parliamentary work – the Algerian dialogue

A delegation from the Algerian National Assembly participated today, Thursday, in the meetings of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The delegation consists of Ahmed Salih Latifi, head of the parliamentary group of the National Liberation Front Party in the National Assembly, and Saed Arous, head of the parliamentary group for the presidential third in the National Assembly, member of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union,
In the work of the 30th special session of the same committee, today, Thursday, in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
This meeting was devoted to discussing mechanisms and ways to develop the work of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, as well as mechanisms to address its financial situation and the obstacles facing its work and impeding the realization of its objectives stipulated in its charter.

The representative of the National Assembly in the Executive Committee, through an intervention he delivered during the debate, called for the need to adopt the approach of change and renewal to upgrade the work of the federation and link it to the Arab current and its developments that have occurred in all fields, in parallel with rapid international and regional transformations, which require intensification of efforts, coordination of positions and unification of visions, in order to Responding to the aspirations and concerns of the Arab peoples, within the framework of effective parliamentary diplomacy and joint Arab parliamentary action.

In this context, Saed Arous suggested activating the work of the Federation’s committees through regular meetings and specialized workshops, while preparing an administrative and financial work ground based on a realistic vision and a practical perspective that can be embodied, that would promote the work of the Federation and accelerate the realization of its lofty goals.
The recommendations agreed upon by the members of the committee will be submitted for approval before the thirty-fourth conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, which will be held on February 25 and 26, 2023 in the government palace in the capital, Baghdad.
