organized Free Algerian Student Organization today, Saturday The second national student festival at Houari Boumediene University – Bab Ezzouar – on the occasion of the National Student Day.
Fatih Sribli, head of the organization, said in the opening speech: We meet today on this special occasion that is associated with us as students and youth as the living energy of the Algerian nation, and the future of this dear country. At the forefront is the General Union of Algerian Muslim Students.
May 19, 1956 represented an important and pivotal historical station in the path of the blessed liberation revolution, which in turn became a real landmark for the emergence of the idea and necessity of liberation by force and a reminder of pride and pride.
And today, by the grace of God and thanks to our martyrs and mujahideen ancestors, we are blessed in a sovereign, free and independent homeland, as we raise signs of gratitude to those university students and secondary students who sacrificed themselves and preciously for the sake of freedom and independence.
Perhaps that altruism and self-denial is the best embodiment of their level of national awareness, their political maturity, and their deep conviction in the values of pride and honor. There is no life of pride and dignity in light of submission, nor a feeling of belonging to a homeland without performing the duty required to restore its freedom and sovereignty, even if that cost the cost of sacrifices.
To the extent that we have the right to honor, glorify, and be proud of what our ancestors presented, it is a greater duty for us to draw inspiration from those values that they believed in and how they embodied them. Fuel for the new Algeria, in which we aspire to be in its rightful position in all international, regional and continental policies.
He added: The next stage is the stage of building and preparing a force, which requires solidarity, cooperation and integration in order for us to be that rock upon which the plots of our lurkers are broken, and it also requires us to make a greater effort by contributing to the promotion of the university system and being more serious and Efficiency and the consolidation of the idea of work and creativity within the framework of sustainable development at all levels, which can provide us with tremendous positive energy to ensure the continuity of giving in order to achieve the goal.
And while we value the valuable gains that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has consecrated under his 54 commitments, which were translated by the November 2020 constitution by giving utmost importance to the student, by launching several workshops within the framework of structuring, developing and strengthening the university’s position as a strategic reservoir for the human resource, as we also highly value it. The courageous decision of the President of the Republic regarding the recruitment of master’s and doctorate holders, as well as giving the university its important role by opening up to the external milieu to frame and succeed the economic, social and cultural policies of the state.
And also the establishment of the Supreme Council for Youth as an advisory body concerned with youth affairs, of which students represent the largest group, in order to empower them and enhance their capabilities for the great responsibility entrusted to them in leading the state to achieve the desired goals, as well as the National Observatory for Civil Society, whose fabric is formed by the vast majority of Youth and also the promotion of political opportunities for youth through local and legislative elections, in addition to what the state has achieved in a short time, whether at the continental, regional or even international levels. We also do not forget the important role of the People’s National Army, the descendant of the Liberation Army, being the shield and fortress of the nation and the safety valve. And the protector of the borders of the homeland, a sincere tribute to our brave soldiers.
My fellow students, the celebration of this historic occasion is also an affirmation of the continuation of a historical path full of stances related to issues of liberation, such as the issue of Western Sahara as an issue of decolonization, and our adherence to the Palestinian cause as an ideological issue and a central liberation issue in our struggle that cannot be waived in any way.
