Under the generous patronage of the Minister of Culture and Arts, Souria Moulouji, and within the framework of the cultural and artistic program outlined in the month of Ramadan 1444 AH, the activities of the seventh edition of the “Local Cultural Festival of Singing” were inaugurated last night at the House of Culture “Abdel Majid El Shafei” in the state of Guelma. Under the slogan “Reunion with melody and meeting of memory with values”, with the participation of 12 bands from 7 states in the east of the country.
This festival falls within the calendar of cultural festivals established by the Ministry of Culture and Arts, which aims to preserve the national cultural heritage and build bridges of communication between artists and associations active in this artistic color. What these festivals play in promoting the intangible cultural heritage and expanding the artistic knowledge of the broad audience in the various artistic genres that abound in the states of the country, considering that the demonstration is also an opportunity for families to enjoy nightly evenings with singing.
This edition is dedicated to local singing groups that have not previously ranked first in previous editions of the festival, as the group that wins first place in this competition will participate in the International Singing Festival for the 2023 season in Constantine. The opening ceremony was marked by a distinguished presence of families who enjoyed a variety of chanting performances that were presented outside the official competition by the Choumou El Fann Band of Guelma Province, as well as the Assalam Association Band of Tebessa Province, which won first place in the previous edition of the festival.
The official competition will start from the second evening of the festival on Wednesday night to Thursday, which will witness the presentation of a varied artistic dish by 5 singing teams, including 3 teams from the state of Guelma and another from the states of Mila and Batna, according to the announced program.
