The representative of Algeria, Saad Sadara, confirmed during his speech at the Third Conference of Ministers and Leaders Responsible for Technical and Vocational Education and Training in the Arab World, that this conference aims to discuss the issue of “aligning technical and vocational education and training with the labor market and the future of the green economy and digitization.”
Sadara highlighted that this meeting is “an important opportunity for reflection, consultation and proposal, and for crystallizing visions and projects that serve the field of technical and vocational training, as well as directing efforts to implement them in various sectors, in addition to establishing more training and vocational training institutions and providing capabilities and equipment to achieve the desired goals.”
The same speaker explained that this meeting aims to adopt a comprehensive development plan for the technical and vocational education and training sector in the Arab world and to disseminate and enrich national experiences in this field.
In the same context, Sadra said, “We seek to strengthen the legal, educational and structural system of the sector in the Arab world and develop a unified Arab reference framework for qualifications to ensure the quality of training and training in line with the standards required by the Arab and international labor market, as well as developing mechanisms to enhance the sector’s contribution to the labor market and the development of national economies.”
For his part, the Director of the Education Department at the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALESCO), Rami Iskandar, confirmed that this conference is a “renewed opportunity to deepen consideration of the challenges facing the field of technical and vocational training and training, by crystallizing a new vision for the development of this vital sector in a way that establishes the objectives drawn in the social and economic development plans.
Iskandar expressed his hope that recommendations and proposals would be issued during these meetings that would help policy makers to develop technical education and vocational training and improve its performance.

For his part, the state director of vocational education and training in the capital, Abdelkader Tawil, confirmed that this meeting is a fertile space for exchanging experiences between the participating countries, and finding mechanisms that allow identifying the largest professions that are suitable for the world of work, in order to benefit from them by industrial institutions, and As well as finding effective mechanisms in order to include them in the disciplines of vocational training and education in the Arab world.
The conference, which is considered a “participatory space for visions and perceptions that will bring about a quantum leap in the national economies through the technical training and vocational training sector”, is attended by executives from ALECSO and experts from the technical and vocational education and training sector in the Arab countries, in addition to international and Arab organizations. This forum, which will last for three days, will witness the organization of sessions and workshops related to the topic “Preparing Arab technicians for the global labor market and ways to develop the technical training and vocational training sector within studies and research institutions and presenting the experiences of Arab countries.”
