The Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, revealed that during the twenty days of Ramadan, 120,000 interventions were made by trade and fraud suppression agents. As a result, 1,690 tons of various foodstuffs were seized, and 19,921 official reports were issued for judicial follow-up.
During his meeting with the regional and state directors of the sector, he emphasized that: “Protecting national production does not mean hitting the citizen’s pocket, nor does it tolerate speculators.”
He also stressed the need to listen to citizens’ concerns and complaints regarding abundance and supplies during the Eid days. He also urged to report non-permanent traders.
