The Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, directed instructions to the officials of the National Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Trade “JEX”, related to import operations, which aim to provide materials that are not produced locally and that do not cover the needs of the market.
During his visit to the agency, yesterday evening, Wednesday, and listening to detailed explanations about the digital platform for following up import requests, Zeitouni ordered the processing of pending import files to be expedited.
The minister also directed, according to a statement to the Ministry of Commerce, instructions to facilitate the import of unmanufactured or non-locally produced materials, and to liberalize the process of importing goods and products whose local production does not cover the national market.
On the other hand, Al-Tayeb Zitouni demanded that the agency work to protect the local product.
