Today, Tuesday, the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Bouslimani, received the President of the Supreme Council for Youth, Mr. Mustafa Hidawi, in a meeting that focused on the mechanisms to ensure permanent coordination between the two bodies within the framework of the embodiment of the National Youth Plan.
In this regard, Bouslimani stressed the importance of “integrating the various government sectors concerned with youth in order to achieve common goals that flow into this endeavour,” highlighting the role assigned to this category in achieving local and national development and defending Algeria.
In this context, he stressed that “the youth, who is the greatest wealth that Algeria is proud of, must be aware of the malicious attacks targeting his country targeting its security and identity, so that they can be in the first line in defending it.”
Concerning the media sector, the minister stated that most of the Algerian journalists today are young, which prompted him to “give special importance to the element of formation”, which is translated – as he said – in the training courses that are currently taking place on institutional and interpersonal communication.
In turn, Hidawi explained that this meeting is the seventh held by the Supreme Council for Youth with the ministries concerned with this category, with the aim of “seeing the efforts made by various government sectors for the benefit of youth, while monitoring the concerns that concern them in order to contribute to finding quick and effective solutions to them.”
In this regard, he stressed the importance of “creating permanent frameworks for coordination with these sectors so that there is permanent contact between them and the Supreme Council for Youth,” with the aim of “updating the data on this file and developing the mechanisms set up by the state to make the voice of youth heard.”
He pointed out that these meetings also aim to “follow up the extent to which the national plan for youth is embodied, which means many ministerial sectors, and which will be the subject of an annual report to be submitted to the President of the Republic.”
The President of the Supreme Council for Youth also appreciated the “strong and effective presence of young people in the media sector,” recalling in a related context that various national media, especially audio-visual ones, have allocated channels for young people that deal with their interests and concerns.
