Today, Saturday, the Minister of Mujahideen and People with Rights, Eid Rabika, supervised in Algiers a symposium on the occasion of the commemoration of the 69th anniversary of the meeting of the historic Group of 22.
During this symposium, which was hosted by the National Museum of the Mujahid, in the presence of the family of the Mujahid symbol Elias Drish, a member of the group and the owner of the house (the historical teacher) who hosted the meeting, the historic decision of the Group of 22 to head towards armed struggle and detonate the revolution was highlighted as the only way to restore national sovereignty.
In a speech, by the way, Rabika called on the mujahideen who lived through the events of the blessed liberation revolution to write their memoirs and pass on those facts to the younger generations.
He recalled the courage shown by the members of the Group of 22 when they “realized with their awareness and insight that colonialism could not remain perched on the lofty land of Algeria,” and that “the battle of liberation and emancipation and the restoration of stolen national sovereignty must be launched.”
He added that the state pays “special attention to the issue of memory and everything related to national identity and promoting the writing of national history,” expressing his certainty that historians, researchers, students, and those interested in the history of Algeria “will find themselves more than others interested in writing down historical facts and showing the heroism and epics of the daughters and sons of their people.”
On the sidelines of this symposium, the memoirs of Mujahid Ali Bou Ghazala, Secretary-General of the National Organization of Mujahideen, were presented and signed, under the title “In the bosom of the homeland among brave men: the life of a fighter from the bottom of the valley to the top of the mountain.”
