The National Gendarmerie of Ouargla seized more than 13 quintals of spoiled meat, in a warehouse in the El-Makhdama district of the Ouargla municipality, without observing the necessary conditions for the preservation and storage process.
According to a statement by the National Gendarmerie, a patrol was formed by the local division, supported by the Environmental Protection Division, in coordination with the Directorate of Trade and Agriculture of the wilaya of Ouargla. After the inspection, a considerable amount of spoiled meat was found, represented by red meat “beef and sheep” and white meat. “Scallops,” in addition to the suffixes “viscera, liver, heads, and legs,” estimated at 1,350 kg, were stored in an unlicensed cold room located in a warehouse owned by the 62-year-old “AH, P.”
And the same security institution highlighted that the situation confirmed by itself that the meat was spoiled and unfit for human consumption.
As a result, a judicial file was prepared after notifying the regionally competent representative of the republic, with the destruction of the seized goods and the arrest of the person involved until he was brought before the competent judicial authorities.
