Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Ataf, received a phone call from the Dutch Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wopke Hoekstra.
The Dutch minister began his call by congratulating Algeria on its election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, wishing it every success in its contribution to enhancing the performance of this central body in maintaining international peace and security.
On this occasion, the two parties discussed the reality of Algerian-Dutch relations, prospects for enhancing bilateral economic cooperation and intensifying political dialogue on regional and international issues of common interest.
In this context, the head of the Dutch diplomacy appreciated Algeria’s role and contribution in facing the energy crisis in the world, as a serious and trusted partner by all, especially by his country, which is looking forward to strengthening bilateral cooperation in this field.
On the other hand, the two sides exchanged views on developments in the Sahel region, in light of the challenges posed by the widening severity and scope of the terrorist threat and the various forms of international organized crime associated with it, as well as the repercussions of climate change.
In conclusion, the two ministers agreed to enhance bilateral communication at various levels, especially in the future programmed benefits between the two countries.
