The Polisario Front renews its adherence to the option of armed struggle to expel the Moroccan occupation – the Algerian dialogue

The representative of the Polisario Front at the United Nations and the coordinator with the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara, MINURSO, Sidi Mohamed Ammar, affirmed that the Sahrawi party remains firmly attached to its position, which was recommended and supported by the Sixteenth Congress of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia El Hamra and Valley of Gold, which is the option of armed struggle, without excluding all Legitimate means to expel the Moroccan occupation.
In a statement he made to Sahrawi TV, the spokesman stated that “the Sahrawi party still adheres strongly to its position, which it expressed on many occasions, including the statement issued by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia al-Hamra and the Valley of Gold on October 30, 2021, after the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2602 (2021). )”.
And it is the same position – says Sidi Ammar – that was strongly recommended and supported by the Sixteenth Congress of the Polisario Front, “which took the escalation of fighting as a slogan and approach to continue the struggle by all legitimate means, to impose respect for the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people, neither to compromise nor to statute of limitations in self-determination, independence and restoration of sovereignty over entire territory of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
During the meeting, the content of which was reported by the Sahrawi News Agency (SPA), the Sahrawi diplomat touched on the entry of a land convoy of the “MINURSO” mission into the liberated desert soil, between 5 and 7 April, stressing that this was “as a result of a goodwill initiative” that he announced. The President of the Sahrawi Republic, the Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia El-Hamra and the Valley of Gold, Ibrahim Ghali, reported it in a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, on March 29.
Sidi Ammar stated that Guterres and high-level officials of the United Nations Secretariat, as well as members of the Security Council, including permanent members, “expressed their thanks and gratitude for this initiative, which constitutes real support for the MINURSO mission and for the efforts of Staffan de Mistura, the Secretary-General’s personal envoy for the Sahara.”
