President Tebboune honors the members of the Algerian mission delegated to southern Turkey and northern Syria - Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent a message of condolence to the family of the fighter, friend of the Algerian revolution, Monique Hervaux, who passed away at the age of 95, in which he praised her struggles for just causes and her defense of the activists in the National Liberation Front Federation.

And the message of condolence stated: “We received with great emotion and sorrow the news of the death of the French fighter and writer, the late Monique Hervaux, who chose the Algerian nationality and converted to Islam.”

The deceased was known – adds the President of the Republic – “for her struggles in defense of just causes, and she stood courageously, announcing her condemnation of the suppression of Algerians in the demonstrations of October 11, 1961, and she testified against Maurice Babon, the then prefect of the Paris police.”

She also “documented, with integrity and honor, her suffering with the Algerians in her joint book with Marie Ong Charas, “The Tin Quarters” and in her book “The Chronicles of the Tin Quarter: Nanterre in a State of War 1959-1962,” which symbolizes the suffering of Algerian immigrants and the resistance and national movement. President Tebboune continues, stressing that “history will continue to remember her for her defense of the activists in the National Liberation Front federation.”

The President of the Republic concluded his message of condolence by saying: “In front of this painful affliction, I address the family of the deceased and her relatives with my sincere condolences and sincere feelings of sympathy, praying to the Almighty to cover her with his vast mercy, and to inspire her family and relatives patience and solace.”
