The Algerian Prime Minister, Ayman Ben Abderrahmane, presided today, Monday in Algiers, the opening of the works of the 49th symposium of the African Insurance Organization.
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Finance, Aziz Fayed, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohamed Abdel Hafeez Hani, the President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council, Sidi Mohamed Bouchnak Kheladi, and a number of directors of insurance and reinsurance companies, as well as representatives of the United Nations and African Union bodies accredited in Algeria.
About 1,780 representatives of various branches of the insurance and reinsurance sector are participating in this three-day symposium, including 1,100 participants from 70 countries, under the slogan “The contribution of insurance to the challenges of food security in the African continent.”
This forum, organized by the Algerian Federation of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies, under the supervision of the African Insurance Organization, will be an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences through several axes, especially food security and the promotion of African cooperation in the field of insurance and reinsurance.
On the occasion, a road map will be prepared to defend the unified position of the organization aimed at promoting the strategic interests of the sector in Africa.
